My Reading List

So for those of you who already know me, you know I have a terrible mom brain and can be a little flighty…. I actually have notebooks upon notebooks of lists upon list…seriously… so for me I decided to start a Reading List for a couple reasons…

  1. you can see what I’ve read, am reading or plan to read
  2. if you have the same genre likes then maybe I will give you, your next book idea
  3. so i can keep track** for myself
  4. to give you an outlet to chat with me about my book selection (love or hate)
  5. to give myself an outlet to vent about my thoughts on the book

I do tend to read some scary type stuff, as Stephen King is my favorite author since I was a kid but from time to time I do read other genres so you never know what you might find!

Final Note: If you come across a book that you think I may like please don’t hesitate to recommend it!

Baby Teeth

Baby Teeth by ZoJe Stage

A battle of wills between mother and daughter reveals the frailty and falsehood of familial bonds in award-winning playwright and filmmaker Zoje Stage’s tense audiobook of psychological suspense, Baby Teeth.

Disappearance at Devil’s Rock

Disappearance At Devil’s Rock by Paul Tremblay

A family is shaken to its core after the mysterious disappearance of a teenage boy in this eerie tale, a blend of literary fiction, psychological suspense, and supernatural horror from the author of A Head Full of Ghosts.

Ink and Bone

Ink and Bone by Lisa Unger

In this explosive psychological thriller by New York Times best-selling author Lisa Unger, a young woman’s mysterious gift forces her into the middle of a dangerous investigation of a little girl’s disappearance.

Bird Box

Bird Box by Josh Malerman

Something is out there… Something terrifying that must not be seen. One glimpse and a person is driven to deadly violence. No one knows what it is or where it came from.

**So I did see this movie on Netflix (Sandra Bullock is my Girl Crush) and I thought it was quite good so I figured the book has to be just as good! *fingers crossed*

The Butterfly Garden

The Butterfly Garden by Dot Hutchison

Near an isolated mansion lies a beautiful garden… In this garden grow luscious flowers, shady trees…and a collection of precious “butterflies” – young women who have been kidnapped and intricately tattooed to resemble their namesakes. Overseeing it all is the Gardener, a brutal, twisted man obsessed with capturing and preserving his lovely specimens.

Lineage by Joe Hart

Pain, horror, fear – these are the things that have comprised best-selling novelist Lance Metzger’s life. His childhood remains a riddled wasteland of abuse by a sadistic father and abandonment by an apathetic mother. In turn his only refuge became his writing.

Flight or Fright

Flight or Fright

Stephen King hates to fly. Now he and coeditor Bev Vincent would like to share this fear of flying with you. Welcome to Flight or Fright, an anthology about all the things that can go horribly wrong when you’re suspended six miles in the air, hurtling through space at more than 500 mph and sealed up in a metal tube (like – gulp! – a coffin) with hundreds of strangers. All the ways your trip into the friendly skies can turn into a nightmare, including some we’ll bet you’ve never thought of before…but now you will the next time you walk down the jetway and place your fate in the hands of a total stranger.

Elevation by Stephen King

The latest from legendary master storyteller Stephen King, a riveting, extraordinarily eerie, and moving story about a man whose mysterious affliction brings a small town together – a timely, upbeat tale about finding common ground despite deep-rooted differences.

Dark Places

Dark Places by Gillian Flynn

Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in “The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas”. As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer.

A Head Full Of Ghosts

A Head Full Of Ghosts by Paul Tremblay

A chilling thriller that brilliantly blends domestic drama, psychological suspense, and a touch of modern horror, reminiscent of Mark Z. Danielewski’s House of Leaves, John Ajvide Lindqvist’s Let the Right One In, and Shirley Jackson’s The Haunting of Hill House.
